The EFR Primary Care for Schools Course is ideal for Teachers, Teaching Assistants and anybody else working in both primary and secondary schools. This course is a 4 hour course which meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) criteria and is fully compliant with HSE, Sure Start, Skills Start, Council for Awards In Children's Care and Education, Pre School Learning Alliance, National Child Minding Association and Ofsted.


Included on every course are the essential Primary Care first aid skills tailormade for your school. Additional skills can be added to meet the needs of individual schools such as Secondary Care and the many First Aid at Work Courses.


Training is performance based with the practical application forming the greatest part of the course. Courses are run on a bespoke basis on school premises. Dates and times are arranged to suit the individual school and can be daytime, evening or at the weekend. A comprehensive manual and certifcate is included for each participant.


As a local training provider we specialise in offering a personal tailored approach to both arranging courses and delivery of training.


Our Primary Care and Secondary Care Course count towards CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points for professionals.

Primary Care (CPR) Course Content

Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches how to respond to life-threatening emergencies, focussing on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise. Primary Care (CPR) skills taught in this course:

  • Scene Safety Assessment Universal Precautions
  • Communicable Disease Protection, including barrier use
  • Primary Assessment
  • Rescue Breathing
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management
  • Serious Bleeding Management
  • Shock Management
  • Spinal Injury Management

Optional Recommended Skills

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training   
  • Emergency Oxygen Use Orientation.
